A refuge for the third stage of life
Vanaprasta Ashram holds three living works: a pilgrimage across the sacred geography of Bharat, a dignified home for our elders, and a celestial garden of twenty-seven sacred trees.
Section One
Akhanda Bharat Yatra
A pilgrimage on foot and by road through the temples, tirthas and forest hermitages of undivided Bharat. Each yatra is offered in stages, so that householders and elders alike can walk the portion that calls them.
The purpose
To walk the land as prayer — reviving memory of a civilisation held together by pilgrimage rather than borders.
Who may join
Seekers of any age in reasonable health. Walkers travel in small groups with support vehicles, simple food and shared shelter.
Section Two
Old Age Home
A permanent home for elders who wish to spend their later years in an atmosphere of quiet devotion and companionship. Residents are received as family, not as guests — with care that respects both their independence and their need for support.
- Accommodation
- Clean, airy rooms with attached washrooms, shaded verandas and gardens to sit in.
- Sattvic meals
- Three simple vegetarian meals a day, cooked in the ashram kitchen and adjusted for medical needs.
- Medical support
- A resident attendant, weekly doctor visits, medicine management and hospital coordination.
- Satsang & seva
- Daily bhajan, scripture reading, yoga suited to age, and small acts of service for those who wish.
Section Three
Nakshatra Vatika — Celestial Garden
Twenty-seven trees, one for each lunar mansion, planted in a mandala around a central platform. Visitors find the tree of their birth nakshatra, offer water to it, and sit awhile — an old way of standing under one's own portion of sky.

Sponsor a tree. Families may adopt a nakshatra tree in the name of a child, an elder or an ancestor. The ashram tends it, and a small stone marker carries the name.
